Event: Friday 9 Dec 2011, 6 – 10pm; with Performance & Screening: 7pm

The South London Vitrine Gallery is presenting an ambitious solo project by British artist John Walter. A painting exhibition/site-specific installation, performance and screening, which draw reference from both high and low culture filtering them and synthesizing them into Walter’s very consistent ‘maximilist’ aesthetic.

To coincide with the installation a series of events are scheduled to take place in Shortwave Cinema during the opening event of the exhibition.

Two short films made in collaboration with Jamie Quantrill featuring John Walter’s alter ego, singer Shitney Cuntstone and featuring the music of Cuntstone and Clown will be screened in the cinema.

Alongside a live performance of versions of songs from the collaborative project Cuntstone and Clown with Cian Donnelly. These performances involve costume, props and dialogue – a kind of psychedelic cabaret.
