Jeff Bridges Named Best Actor At The Oscars

There were no shocks in the first of the Big 4 awards to be announced at The Oscars as Jeff Bridges took home the gong for his performance as Bad Blake in Crazy Heart. He beat Colin Firth, George Clooney, Jeremy Renner and Morgan Freeman to take home the prestigious award.

The win was widely expected with ‘The Dude’ being applauded at every mention and appearance throughout the ceremony. The actor, who was rewarded following his fifth nomination, was introduced by Michelle Pfeiffer and eventually handed the award by last year’s Best Actress winner, Kate Winslet.

The award was popular with those attending, receiving a great round of applause. Bridges kept his cool through his acceptance speech, taking the time to congratulate a vast array of individuals who were also involved with Crazy Heart. Finally, The Dude has his honour!
